Vocal Part: Tenor

Mateo was born and raised in the small west Texas town of Snyder. He and his wife Amy have been married since June 2005. A lot of his musical upbringing is from a constant influence from his parents, Joe and Geneva, and two brothers, Pablo and Josue. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2006 with a degree in Music Education. Since graduating ACU, he has been teaching elementary music. “Music has been a big part of my life since I can remember, and I feel that I can best serve God and others by using this gift.” With musical influences like the Beatles, Billy Joel, and Christian artists such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Take 6 and The Acappella Company, Mateo has broadened his horizons as a singer and songwriter. “I thank God for the gift of music, for the chance to be in this ministry, for my family, and most of all for the grace that his son Jesus Christ has given to everyone, everywhere.”
