It was 1985 and Keith Lancaster was forming a group of singers as backing vocalists for Acappella. They came to be known as Acappella’s “vocal band” and the name stuck. The new quintet debuted as the backup group for Acappella shortly thereafter and the rest is history. AVB’s first two albums, Give Me Light and Steppin On A Cloud, quickly became favorites of all who heard this “new” sound. Over the years, as AVB’s sound matured, these original two releases went out of print and were lost to time, never to be heard again. Or so we thought.
More than fifteen years later, we rediscovered and digitally restored and remixed the original session tapes. Now you can hear them like you’ve never heard them before. To top it off, while digging through the archives, we also uncovered a previously unreleased early recording of “Work At It” that is available now for the fist time ever. We proudly present AVB’s The Early Years.
